Getting a 3D Printer

I’ve decided to “get with the times” and get a 3D Printer (with some advice from @Darkedge on Mastodon).

It’s been one of those things I’ve had on my “would like to have” list for a while, but haven’t had the “need to have” sorted to be able to justify getting one. More recently though, especially as I’m playing more with Home Assistant and ESPHome, I’ve been hitting more situations where it would be useful to be able to print off a quick custom piece (e.g. custom eInk display mounts)…

So, I finally took the plunge and “invested in” a Creality K1 printer. I’m still waiting on delivery (as of writing), but it seems to be a decent mid-range printer that’s neither cheap and low-end, or hideously expensive and high-end, and as I’m starting from scratch I thought I’d take the opportunity to try and do some kind of blog about my experiences as I go 🙂
